Enter the Ohio Honey Show, Honey Bake-Off and ECOBA Photo Contest. Buzz over to the food courts for scrumptious honey-made food, and sample mead at the wine tasting at Wagnalls Memorial Library. While you're there, enjoy a treat from the Honey Bake-Off sale or take advantage of their book sale before you check out the fantastic live music in the park, shop with nearly 100 vendors to find some of Ohio's best arts & crafts, and let us help your children create bee memorabilia at the Gilmore Group/Red 1 Realtors Busy Beehive. Relax while your kiddos take a ride on the Bee Train, and enjoy the free, air-conditioned transportation to our free parking lots when your day is over.
Lithopolis Honeyfest is a member of OFEA (Ohio Festivals and Events Association) so we can enthusiastically seek ways to ensure we are continuously recognized by the Secretary of State as a compliant festival with public safety in mind.
Pet-friendly, kid-friendly, and completely ADA-accessible, Lithopolis Honeyfest is like a beehive: lots of amazing things happening in a structured environment where our main focus is making your experience SWEET!

Because they are so small, bees are often overlooked, even though the impact of bees on our planet is astronomical! According to Medical News Today, Around 75% of crops produce better yields if animals help them pollinate. Of all animals, bees are the most dominant pollinators of wild and crop plants. They visit over 90% of the world’s top 107 crops.Scientists say that without bees, there will be no more nuts, coffee, cocoa, tomatoes, apples, or almonds, to name a few crops. This could lead to nutritional deficiencies in the human diet, as these products are essential sources of vital nutrients.
Additionally, the medicinal properties of bee venom and other bee products may never be accessible without bees to provide them.
With nearly 100 arts and crafts exhibitors, and adding more every year, Lithopolis Honeyfest has everything you're looking for! Many of our partners return to us every year, and for some, this is the only event they annually attend. We make every effort to ensure that we don't have wide duplication of vendor wares, so you won't find 10 vendors who all offer glass vases. Come check them out!
With more than 15 years developing relationships with area beekeepers, we are honored to recognize those beekeepers who partner with Honeyfest year after year:
Bee Man Apiaries
Brook Haven Apiary & Queen Right Colonies
Combs Bee Farm
Conrad Hive & Honey
Daniels Raw Honey
Honey Run Farm
Reid's Bee-tique
Roger's Honey
SaraBee Honey
Williams Honey Bees
What is a festival without FOOD TRUCKS?!
Come on. Admit it. Sometimes when you go to a festival or a fair, you make a BEE LINE for the funnel cakes or popcorn or decadence of a deep-fried dessert! We get it!
We have ensured that there are a variety of food vendors throughout the Honeyfest route so there will always be something to eat and drink close to where you are!
There's nothing like live music!
Rest your feet a while at the park and enjoy the shade and music of local artists. Sing along or even dance if you want to! We have everything you need right there. Plenty of tables, benches and chairs available!
The Lithopolis Honeyfest Honey Bake-Off is designed to encourage the everyday cook to discover the many benefits of using honey, not just as a sweetener of choice, but as a common ingredient in a variety of recipes. The Bake-Off is ALWAYS a popular event, and it's open to chefs of all ages!

Like any successful hive, we are always looking for volunteers to make every year not only a success, but better than the year before. It takes more than 100 volunteers to make Honeyfest happen. Some volunteer opportunities require 2 hours of time on a random Tuesday during the summer, while others ask for a commitment after the entire event is over. Some folks want to work on a committee while others want to work on a solo project. We need ALL levels of volunteering!

Honeyfest wouldn't be Honeyfest without our Beekeeper Associations. Each one adds an educational element to Honeyfest, and some sponsor contests, scholarships, hive demonstrations, pollinator gardens, and engagement opportunities for youth.

Thank you to all the business who sponsor the various components of our festival! Sponsorships allow us to offer attendees the added perks of air-conditioned restrooms with running water, a safety/nursing station, and free parking/site transportation.
Please reach us at good2bee@lithopolishoneyfest.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We love this question and always answer the same: ALL well-behaved pets AND children are welcome! Many festival-goers even dress up their pets in bee attire! We just ask that pet owners comply with leash law guidelines, and are aware that they retain liability for any incidents resulting from pet inclusion.
We want to keep Lithopolis Honeyfest charming and free from physical and auditory chaos. We'd rather chill out in the park listening to live music or watching someone corral 10,000 bees than to watch parents shell out $40 for ride tickets and $10 for a chance to win a goldfish. As for bounce houses: something tells us that the combination of hot plastic and children with sticky, sweet fingers jumping around in an enclosed space when there are bees around isn't going to help us achieve the vibe we want to maintain. So, other than our very popular Bee Train, we are keeping all feet on the ground and your money in your pocket.
Honeyfest is a 2-day event, occurring the first Friday and Saturday after Labor Day every year. On Fridays, we open at 3pm and close at 7pm. On Saturdays, we welcome visitors at 10am and shut down at 7pm. (Usually, the next question is: "Why do you close so early?" We close at 7pm because by that time it's getting dark, and we are always mindful of our community safety standards regarding lighting and public safety.)
